The Albany, Canada Water Theatre and Deptford Lounge’s Spring 2020 season of events features a huge range of family-friendly shows for families with kids of all ages, including dance, circus, puppetry, live music and more. Our venues are welcoming and accessible with café’s and free kids activities, plus a large garden at the Albany for children to explore.
This season’s programme includes some spectacular half terms treats, with Inua Ellams’ magical retelling of the much-loved story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince and interactive adventure from the makers of the Chit Chat Chalk Show, Outside the Igloo coming to the Albany in February. Plus, head over to Canada Water for February half term treat, Drag Queen Story Time, an inclusive storytelling session in which fairy tales will be brought to life by local Drag Queens.
In May half term, join us at the Albany for the return of Errol’s Garden, an interactive musical exploring planting and gardening or at Canada Water Theatre for tutti frutti’s brand new show about the wonders of sleep, Sweet Dreams.
And it doesn’t stop there. We’ve got you covered for your Easter holiday activities too, with some of the UK’s best comedians performing family-friendly sets in Comedy Club 4 Kids at Canada Water Theatre. Along with a poetic new play by award-winning children’s author Laura Dockrill with music by Hugo White of The Maccabees, Dust at the Albany.
There are plenty of other family-friendly shows and events throughout the season, including the return of Apples and Snakes’ hip-hop garden party Plot 17 and the City of London Sinfonia’s relaxed lunchtime orchestral music concerts for all ages, Comfortable Classical.
You can also join us for some classic family favourites with Lyngo Theatre’s Puss in Boots and interactive theatrical experience exploring the stories of Roald Dahl, Roald Dahl and the Imagination Seekers. And if you’re looking for something for the really little ones come along to the hilarious and surreal show for under 5s, Slime at Canada Water Theatre or Deptford Lounge.
