Once upon a time with Anna Fiorentini…

Once upon a time, in the land of London, lived Anna Fiorentini. She dreamt of setting up a school of Performing Arts for children in a town called Hackney.

The schools aim was to help those who couldn’t afford expensive drama school fees, and for them to gain confidence on stage. All in all, she wanted to inspire children in her community and give them the opportunity to grow in confidence, self-esteem and succeed in the big wide world!

This was no fairy tale, it’s a dream come true.

Anna got her wish she received support from the Prince’s Trust to set up her first school in Hackney, which is one of the Capital’s more deprived boroughs. She opened the first branch in 2001. The success of opening the first branch motivated her to open her second branch in the Docklands and then two more a few years later.

The talent of some of the students also encouraged Anna to open the Agency, giving these children a chance to work professionally in the industry.

The Agency has secured contracts including EastEnders, Top Boy, Hank Zipzer, feature film Song for Marion and the West End’s The Lion King, Matilda and Oliver! to name but a few.

“He is more confident at academic school and comes home excited about going to Anna Fiorentini the following week” says a mum of one of the students.

“She got a distinction in Grade A piano and this is because of the confidence she has gained from coming to the Saturday school. I am really grateful to all the team at Anna Fiorentini for their professionalism and the support they’ve given to my daughter” says a proud dad.

“Thank you so much for making a difference in my child’s life” says another mum.

These positive comments coupled with the talent of the children at all the branches motivate Anna to continue her quest. Anna wishes to reach as many children as possible in London and across England. This has led her to open a new branch south of the river, in Greenwich (James Wolfe School at the Royal Hill Campus, Saturdays 10am – 1pm). The Greenwich branch opened in January 2015 and the excitement of this new adventure vibrates in the town of Greenwich.

If you know a child that likes to sing, dance or act and would benefit from attending the school, they can attend the next taster session. Please visit www.annafiorentini.com or email hello@annafiorentini.com to book your place.
