Greenwich Park

Covering 74 acres, Greenwich Park is the oldest Royal Park and also home to a small herd of Fallow & Red Deer.

Situated at the top of a hill, visitors can enjoy sweeping views across the River Thames to St Pauls Cathedral and beyond.

The Park is part of the Greenwich World Heritage Site, host to the Prime Meridian Line and the old Royal Observatory as well as having the National Maritime Museum right next door.

For mums and kids there are lots of ways to spend your time.

Apart from the places to stop for a bite to eat, and the Old Royal Observatory which we’ve already mentioned, there is the Observatory Planetarium (by appointment), a bandstand (hosting many a Sunday concert during summer), a children’s playground and entertainment such as puppet shows and workshops (during summer school holidays, excluding Sundays).

And last but not least there is the fully enclosed flower garden; which as it has a no dogs policy means parents with young babies and toddlers can at least feel relatively safe that a stray Fido isn’t going to mow down their fledgling walker.
