First Time Buyers Week

CENTURY 21 Greenwich Park are excited to be joining the rest of our nationwide network in celebrating our annual First Time Buyers Week (FTBW).

first time buyers week

Commencing on Saturday 21st May, CENTURY 21 UK will be offering advice and access to the services we can offer as part of the SDL Group. As your local outpost of one of the world’s largest estate agents we can provide access to regional, national and international marketing alongside our personal approach.

Throughout FTBW we will be providing advice on buying your first home do’s and don’ts, mortgages, surveying, conveyancing and the end to end process from buying to moving. Buying a property can be a very complex process and our aim is to provide as much information as possible to enable first time buyers to understand the steps to finding their perfect property.

Recent research from Santander Mortgages suggests that most potential first time buyers in England, would be better off buying rather than continuing to rent as the average monthly rental payments now exceed the average mortgage repayments.

Shelter has also recently carried out research that has concluded that the average first time buyer family will need to save for 20 years, 26 years in London, in order to raise a 20% deposit for a mortgage.

Research from Moneysupermarket.com has also indicated that “close to a fifth of women and a third of men aged 20 – 34 still live at home”, with the average age of first time buyers in the capital now being 37 years old.

A report by residential property experts at JLL has also highlighted that from the 1.5 million strong work force aged 22-39 only the 12.5% highest earners in this group can currently afford to buy an averagely priced first home in the capital.

With so much research and fears that soon a large part of London’s workforce will be priced out of the capital, it is vital that open and honest information is available to those looking to find their feet on the London property market. Hence, our desire to promote FTBW.

So … if you are a first time buyer, or if you are thinking of selling a property that might suit a first time buyer, then please get in touch with us to book an appointment for a cuppa and a chat and give us a chance to tell you what we can do for you.

My team and I really look forward to meeting you soon.

Kind regards,
Simla.
