About this event:
The Green City Challenge and Family Fun Day is our our brand new adventure to be held on Saturday 23rd June is our brand new adventure through South-East London that challenges the whole community – families, friends, schools, companies and social housing organisations to run, jog or walk a 5 mile, half marathon or marathon with routes that join up our London centres and hidden gems of Greenwich.
This event is suitable for: 8 - 12 years, 13 - 16 years, 16 years+, Adults only
This event costs: £2.50 - £10 registration fee then £25 - £100 fundraising (depending on age and challenge)
Venture through forest and woodland paths, discover historical secrets at SevernDroog Castle and the Lesnes Abbey ruins and enjoy stunning views across the Thames path.
This is a great event that everyone can enjoy, no matter how fit you are or whether you’ve done anything like this before. All routes will be waymarked with arrows and event marshals and we will keep you energised throughout the event with regular rest stops.
Our mission is to provide the gift of adventure to disadvantaged children. Join us in this amazing challenge and help us succeed in providing a brighter future for children and young people in our community!

The adventure doesn’t end there as throughout the day our Environment Centre will be hosting a Family Fun Day with a variety of activities for friends and family to get stuck into whether they are taking part or supporting! Have a great day out at our nine-acre wildlife site and celebrate completing the Green City Challenge in style. You’ll have the chance to experience a host of exciting, adventurous activities including a climbing wall, mini beast hunt, fire lighting, face painting, arts & craft, as well as meeting our pigs Wallace and Darwin, and seeing the chickens and ducks in their brand new home. And if all that sounds like too much hard work just relax and enjoy a picnic, ice cream, cakes and drinks in our beautiful grounds.
