Chinese New Year at Museum of London Docklands

Enjoy an unforgettable weekend of fun, games and celebration at the Museum of London Docklands as they host a FREE weekend celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Chinese new Year

The Year of the Pig is right around the corner, so pop between 11 am – 4 pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February to commemorate the long-running relationship between the Chinese community and London’s historic East End.

Learn how to ribbon dance, practice some martial arts moves in a workshop, or even try a traditional percussion instrument during the weekend of free fun and games. And be sure to keep an eye out for the show-stopping lion dance at the front of the museum!

Britain and China have been linked for centuries by a shared love: tea! The tea trade meant that London’s first Chinatown was created near the docks in Limehouse, just a stone’s throw from the Museum of London Docklands.
