Bingo Lingo

bingoSo where would one go these days if you wanted to nip out with friends and play Bingo?

Nowadays I’m told a whopping 3.8 million of us enjoy playing bingo both in halls, but, more increasingly, on-line, too.

As a child I can remember popping to the local bingo Hall with my grandmother and her friends, sipping orange juice whilst she sized up 2 sometimes 3 cards. I’m not sure I should have been there (I think she knew the manager) It was a nice way to while away an hour or so and was always exciting, watching her cross off the numbers and then getting to shout Bingo with her!

Personally I was alway intrigued by the Bingo calls – each one unique with a different meaning relating to that number and in seeing the recent campaign by CostaBingo brought all these memories flooding back. The details can be found here and Costa hope the 90 vids will help you in remembering your “Jump n Jive” – 35, from your “Torquay in Devon” – 87.

My fave is number 65 – old age pension, because you guessed it it reminds me of my Nan – Although a harmonica… not something I think shed play! Here it is below.
Id be interested to see the Danny La Rue! You can follow the goings on via twitter with the hashtag #costabingocalls and I’m trying to track down all 90.

So who wants to join me for a game?
